Everyone at the Fairmont was very nice and helpful.

Things just takes a long time. In getting the car, in having things send to the room. We had one incident in which on Friday night we took the house car to downtown Sonoma and we were told there will be car service available until 10p. At 9:30 I called the car service and the driver said she’s at capacity and it’s end of her shift so I’m going to have to fine my own way back. I tried to call the hotel and was repeatedly put on hold.or transfer. After 10min I gave up and took a Lyft back to the hotel.

The manager on at the time was helpful and nice. I just feel something like this should not happen at a hotel like the Fairmont. We had an extremely great vacation. We loved the hotel and spa. Only issues were that on Sunday, August 4th we stayed at the spa all day. We wanted dinner but did not want to leave the property. We tried to get into the main restaurant at 7pm but was told we would have a 30 minute wait. There were like 7 open tables.

So we were directed to the bar restaurant which is right next door. The service was good but the food was lacking cooking experience. The Lobster Salad was over cooked. The Lobster was extremely tough.

I ordered the French dip which was very greasy. I understand that you are a pet friendly hotel and restaurant as I have 3 dogs of my own, but when the table next to you has a long haired dog that smells like wet dog as you are trying to eat is gross. The breakfast that was served in the main restaurant was incredible, including the Banana Bread.

The Spa was very nice. Only 2 complaints from the spa. 1) there are signs that ask people to be quiet in the indoor hot tubs and so forth but was extremely noisy ( someone could go around and remind people to keep there conversations to a minimum) 2) the door to the relaxation could be redone to make it a quiet close instead of a slam. Numerous times I'm laying on the Wave Lounger and people would open the door to see what was in there and then would slam the door.

We are constantly trying to improve our service, and feedback like yours is very useful. I am glad that you enjoyed some aspects of your stay, but it seems we have some work to do in other areas.I apologize that you were seated next to a dog. We only allow service animals in our outlets, so I am not sure exactly where you were sitting. I spent more time asking for and waiting for help than I did enjoying the resort with my family.

We checked in around 11pm Sun and left Mon at 545pm. All interactions with the hotel, except for the valets, ended in frustration. Sofa bed not ready, bugs in sofa sheets, arguing over late check out, LONG waits for house keeping and at the front desk, 30min sitting in restaurant for brunch with NO server coming to us.

Fairmont Sonoma Mission

I put in the reservation notes we wanted the sofa and a rollaway made up. I also noted that i the online checkin. I called at 9pm to confirm we were on our way and should arrive by 11, asking for the sofa and rollaway to be ready for my kids.

Even at the checkin desk, around 11pm, the service person spent 10min behind the screen trying to see if our room was made up properly and the confirmed it was. Of course it wasnt. The bellman did his best to pull the sofa bed out.

There were 2 dead bugs on the sheets he promptly brushed on the floor. AN HOUR later, after 3 phone calls, a gal and the security person came with clean linens and set up the bed. At midnight!! The next morning, my husband tried to get breakfast started with my kids while I waited in line to request a late checkout (when I checked in, the service person told me to check for a late checkout time the next day. I tried to call from my room but got a busy signal 5 times.) After 15min in line, the service gal had to get a manager for me to explain our experience and ask for a checkout around 4pm. He insisted I be out of my room by 2. Meanwhile I am expecting my kids to be eating.

They waited 10min for a table, despite a 1/4 empty restaurant. I sat with them another 20min, my husband asked the busperson 3 TIMES to send a server over and STILL no one came. Finally we walked out, no one stopped us and we told the hostess why we were leaving. A few hours later, I raced to hotel and left my family at TrainTown to check out just after 2. I waited in line and asked the front desk to make sure my key would work to enter my room so I can prep for the bellperson. She said it would, but it didnt and I hunted down a housekeeper to let me in.

I left my kids’ noise machine in the room. Someone should have called me as soon as the room as cleaned as I was still in the area for another 6 hours and could have easily collected it. Now I have to return to get it this weekend. In lessthan 24 hours, your service failed in every way EXCEPT the valets who kindly took care of our car.

Oh and btw the jacuzzi tub button is missing (room 612.) Please refund at a minimum my $400 for the stay. I can imagine that upon checking in late at 11pm that the last thing you need to worry about is having to wait for your room, and only to be told you weren't able to have a late check out.Your restaurant experience was also a terrible experience for you and your family, and I'm terribly sorry for all the delays you experienced at our outlets particularly at breakfast.

All the way up to check out after being assured your keys would work - they did not. We have dropped the ball on more than one occasion on your departure date - and I'm truly sorry for the inconvenience and frustration this caused you and your family.In all I'm so disappointed to see that your 1-night stay had so many missed opportunities to create a lasting memory for your family. This experience is certainly not reflective of the vacation we want you to have. As a gesture to try and resolve these matters, I have escalated your feedback to share with our team in addition to refunding your credit card on file for your 1-night room rate in the amount of $457.00 (USD). Please allow 5 - 10 business days for this refund to reflect into your account.I hope that we can have another opportunity in the future to create an amazing stay for your family.
