TL;DR After waking from sleep the wired Mac keyboard and mouse don't respond. I have a new Mac Mini. OS X El Capitan 10.11.2, 16gb Core i7.
I did have a compatible bluetooth mouse and keyboard, but I had the issue that after putting the Mini to sleep, the keyboard and mouse weren't detected. I bought an Apple Wired mouse and wired keyboard. I have the same issue. If I sleep the Mini, when I wake it (short press on power) neither the Keyboard or mouse are recognised. It like I have none connected.

If I unplug them from the usb and re-attach them they are still not recognised. I have to long press power to force power off and restart, and then my keyboard and mouse are recognised. Sometimes when pressing the power button to wake from sleep I also get a 'flickering' monitor picture, that gets better if I switch on and off from sleep a few times, or restart. This is very annoying, any ideas? Apple Footer. This site contains user submitted content, comments and opinions and is for informational purposes only.
